Studio Video Vlogging attempts

Jessica Louise Studio Vlogging first attempt

I did a little interview for a new site. Well, new to the US but established in AU. Big review TV is sort of like yelp but they come and shoot a video of your business and interview you so people can find out a little bit about yourself and your business. They just started in Los Angeles so I guess I’m part of the beta testing.

I loved the woman who came to interview me and the videographer was a really cool woman as well so kudos to Big review TV for sending a lady crew I got really great feedback and some coaching from both of them.

Jessica Louise: In my studio DTLA

I wanted to practice my interview questions beforehand because little known fact about me, I hate being in front of a camera and especially video.

I just don’t ever like the way I look or sound. However I really want to over come my camera shyness and start doing little how to videos and updates. I did my first studio vlog and am painfully aware of my use of a certain filler word better than “like” but nearly as bad. I’ll do better next time. I’m going to force myself to do a weekly post at least and share some of the things I’ve made or accomplished each week. So if there is something you are interested in seeing or learning about please leave me comments here or on my video. Thanks guys. I love you lots. xo

Ps sorry for the annoying couple of beeps in video too, ahhhhh

Interview Questions & Answers

Jessica Louise DOE.
I established Jessica Louise In 2002 but really focused on my design work in 2004 when I incorporated and began working on my brand full time

Why was Jessica Louise Started.

I started making clothing for myself and girl friends in the beginning, because I would have all these Ideas for shapes I wanted but couldn’t find in the marketplace. So instead of spending hours and days looking for something similar to what I was imagining I spent that time creating what I envisioned.
However my sewing and execution is night and day from then until now.

What services or products does Jessica Louise offer?

Jessica Louise offers a full ever-changing collection of slightly whimsical and feminine separates, dresses, and accessories in sizes XS-3x as well as custom sizing if requested. Also I do freelance design work including private client, large branding projects and television and commercial piece work.

Why do clients come back.

You would have to speak to one of my clients for confirmation but I feel one of the main reasons besides quality and design is my clients know I will and do go out of my way for them . If you have ordered from me more than once you know to expect specialized customer service and customizability in your garments. Many of my clients have my personal cell number and know they can text or call me with special request or material requests on their orders.
The only reason I have been in business for so long is by the support of my amazing clients. I continue to be humbled and so grateful that I have so much support from so many amazing people. It makes my day that I can have a positive effect/reaction on someone. Some of clients I have known and kept in touch with since they were teenage girls and have had the great pleasure to watch them grow and evolve into these incredible women.

Jessica Louise and the community.

I have been a resident of DTLA for 16 years. I have been creating, developing, and manufacturing my line in my local community this entire time. I have developed personal relationships with so many of my vendors and people I see everyday in the downtown community, just take a walk down the street with me sometime.
Personally I feel its very important to bring other local businesses into your employ whenever possible. Creating
sustainable fashion related community effort is very important to me.

When I moved to Los Angeles in the late 90s from northern California I was really unhappy. Only because I had spent the majority of my life in a different world basically comparing the two environments and Los Angeles is a very hard city to thrive in for quite a while after you arrive here. I did not really know a lot of people and I missed the city vibe of San Francisco so I found two places that mad me happy 1. the Getty museum and 2. the garment district DTLA. At that time downtown was not the driving destination spot it is today, it was very rough around the edges and I completely fell in love with it. I’ve never had a studio space outside of downtown.
Even through all the growing pains of late I continue my love affair with this area and its wonderful diverse people.

favorite part of coming to work each day and what keeps me motivated.
My favorite part will alway be being able to be creative everyday. I do make myself a dire to do list everyday but always allow myself a bit of time to work on something experimental.

What sets me apart from other businesses like myself.

Perhaps that I’m a one woman show? I do all my own branding, designing, photography, web development etc. If there is an aspect important to maintaining or running my business I need to know how to execute it myself. I’m not saying that the best method because doing multiple jobs is very taxing at time but I do feel like it is important to understand every element of any job you need to accomplish when owning your own business.
if you are a CEO of a corporation I feel like you should know how every job works so if in the future an issue arrises you will be able to problem solve more efficiently.

What I want people to talk away when visit my studio is I am here to do the very best job within my extensive capabilities to make you look and feel your best. Fashion is about expression of individual taste as well as looking beautiful in the garments you choose to express yourself in. I would love for you to express yourself in one of my garments.
